Pacific Rim Uprising is the much anticipated sequel, but this time, the franchise has been taken over by director Steven S. DeKnight. So the big question is, does the sequel live up to the original?

  1. My review-very rushed, not enough character development, action packed, not better than the 1st but pretty good

  2. I agree with Manny that this movie is still an entertaining film. You go to the theatres and you still have fun and enjoy watching it. However, Eric also makes a good point. I rewatched the first Pacific Rim and you can definitely feel the heaviness and the giant mass of both the Jaegers and the Kaiju. Something that was missing from the 2nd movie. A lot of it has to do with camera angles and shots. You get the sense of being dwarfed even through a television screen. I miss Guillermo del Toro and his monster movie visions but the sequel was still and enjoyable movie.

  3. Behold, a knockoff that nobody seems to know is a knockoff

For those wondering pacific rim is basically just neon genesis evangelion without the robots needing a power cord

  4. If the storyline of one and two was revrsed in chronology. If it was made into a true sequel with the outline of part two being the first and the first movie being the final fight. It could have been legendary.please god please let them revamp the storyline to be like this. Part two is light and quick, part one is heavy and scary and suspenseful. Exactly how a sequal should be to its predecessor. I’d like to see this

  5. Great movie, but I missed the humor of the first film. The best thing about the original is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously!
